Mae Hanson, 95, of Eau Claire entered into eternal life on Thursday, June 2, 2005 at her home.  Mae was born in Maddock, ND on June 24, 1909 to Paul and Ingeborg (Pederson)    Odden.

She grew up and completed school in North Dakota and later moved to Green Bay, WI to work.  Mae married Olger I. Hanson on April 23, 1932 in Pigeon Falls, WI.  They moved to Eau Claire in 1941.  Mae was a mother and homemaker while her husband, Olger, worked at Uniroyal.  She was a lifelong active member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Eau Claire and also a member of the Eau Claire Christian Womens Club.  Mae sang in the church choir for over 50 years, was active in Esther Circle, and attended numerous bible studies at Our Savior’s as well as Grace Lutheran Church.  She was a very giving person who generously supported many charitable organizations all over the world.  

Mae is survived by her two children, Marion (Hanson) Winrich and Olger “Sonny” (Judy) Hanson, both of Eau Claire; her granddaughter, Cynthia Mae (Gilles) Poupard and great granddaughter Hannah Mae Poupard of Paris, France, and her granddaughter, Jennifer (Charles) Higgins and great grandson, Charles Higgins of Eau Claire; Five step-grandchildren and nineteen step great-grandchildren.  She is further survived by a sister, Cora (Morris) Tooley of La Crosse, WI; a brother, Palmer Odden of Rugby, ND and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Olger, in 1984, her parents, and a sister, Alma.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, with Pastor Roger Churness officiating.  Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.  Family and friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church.
